Next on my list to be read:
*wait, that's 216 books so be patient with me, 'k?
I am currently reading a book by Lisa Gardner, "Before She Disappeared" a Frankie Elkin novel (#1), a secular book about missing girls, and the quest of the main character, Frankie.
Perhaps the best I can do is tell you how interesting it is, and be the judge by her blurb. Gardner always spins a good yarn, and this is a new series for me.
"Frankie Elkin is an average middle-aged woman, a recovering alcoholic with more regrets than belongings. But she spends her life doing what no one else will--searching for missing people the world has stopped looking for. When the police have given up, when the public no longer remembers, when the media has never paid attention, Frankie starts looking.
A new case brings her to Mattapan, a Boston neighborhood with a rough reputation. She is searching for Angelique Badeau, a Haitian teenager who vanished from her high school months earlier. Resistance from the Boston PD and the victim's wary family tells Frankie she's on her own--and she soon learns she's asking questions someone doesn't want answered. But Frankie will stop at nothing to discover the truth, even if it means the next person to go missing could be her."
I also have two other books she has written, long awaiting to be read, "Never Tell," and "Look for Me." I'll keep you update...
Also, "The Garden Girls," by Jessica Patch; "The Wise Man," by Michele Chynoweth; "Project Hermes," by B.E. Sanderson;"Shadow Operative" by Christy Barritt; "The Honor System," by Jason Karpf; a 'continuing education book for writers' book, "The Novel Matrix," by Brad Pauquette.
So, my Christmas vacation will be reading! and reviewing, and ... posting. I should be able to finish these and more. So hang onto your hats!
*also, God willing, a novel is being fashioned in mind and already skeletonized onto paper ... "Voted Most Likely to Murder." No idea of completion date OR if I should consider another Whiskey River Mystery OR if I should get back into the Alex Makela Mystery Series. Time shall tell.
